Lindal Valve

The Lindal valve that's now in widespread use on fuel canisters was designed by the Lindal Group (Lindal Ventil GmbH), an international manufacturer of valves, actuators and spray caps that's headquartered in the German town of Bad Oldesloe, north of Hamburg.

Called the B188, this is a female aerosol valve with threads that were specially developed for fuel canister applications. A product data sheet is available here (135K PDF).
